Tamales! Get ’em while they’re HOT!

Elvia Chavez is a parent of both Swigert and DDS students. She is also an excellent tamale chef. Consider ordering a dozen or two tamales for your next Friday night meal. Complete your order form by Monday at 3:00pm and place it in the office mail box for Tabitha Jones along with your payment (Checks or cash only). Pick up your order the Friday of that same week in the lobby in front of the Swigert office at 3:30pm.

Summer Camps at McAuliffe International School

McAuliffe is pleased to offer several summer camps to our Swigert friends ages 10 and older.  Camp activities include basketball, yoga, cooking, math, acting, and Spanish. All camps will take place at McAuliffe the week of June 5 – 9.  Please read about our summer activities here.

NASA SUMMER CAMP AT SWIGERT: July 10-14
Eurekus – STEAM Powered Discovery
Have a blast during this fun-filled week of space-inspired investigation! Learn to solder, design a mission and explore the cosmos with visiting artists and NASA consultants, Tyler & Monica Aiello. Campers create, invent and investigate space science through visual art, kinetic sculpture, model making and emerging technology. From ancient astronomy to new NASA missions, campers learn about our celestial neighborhood in new and exciting ways. They also gain great STEM skills while creating and discovering together. Projects include: Mixed Media Art, Kinetic Sculpture, Motorized Mobiles, Rockets and More!

CAMP DESCRIPTION:  Participants play games and learn basic soccer skills with experienced and licensed soccer coaches at Denver East High School in the mornings, followed by lunch and a closely supervised 10-minute walk to the Sie FilmCenter in the afternoons for age-appropriate movies.  Campers receive a tee shirt and a ball. Scholarships and financial assistance available.

CAMP DESCRIPTION: Participants play street soccer / futsal games and learn basic soccer skills with experienced and licensed local coaches at Smiley Campus in northeast Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood in the mornings, followed by lunch and a closely supervised transition to Smiley classrooms in the afternoons for innovative, fun-based, age-appropriate ART and STEM activities with trained, certified professional ART and STEM teachers / leaders.  Campers receive a tee shirt and a ball. Scholarships and financial assistance available. 

DSA Character Breakfast

Check out this link/PDF for a great opportunity for your child to have breakfast with their favorite princess or super hero at Denver School of the Arts. Denver School of the Arts Theatre Department is hosting a Character Breakfast at DSA on March 11 at 9am. This is a fundraiser for their summer trip to the Fringe Festival in Scotland!

Bladium for Swigert Days Off

Is Swigert school out of session? Camp Bladium has the answer; we provide your child with the fun they are looking for during their much needed break. Your child will leave camp each day enriched and ready for their next Camp Bladium adventure. Check here for the current schedule.

Campers have the opportunity to choose games and activities as part of our focus on their development. Activities include Dodgeball, Soccer, Flag Football, Capture The Flag, Camp Riddles & Line Tag, and Inflatable Fun Zone among many others.
