I’m a born and raised Florida gal who traded the beach for the mountains in 2013. I live in Denver with my husband, Marc, and our pup, Cato. In our spare time, we travel, try new restaurants and enjoy the outdoors.
In 2012, I lived in a small village in Romania and volunteered at an orphanage. During my time there, I decided I wanted to continue my work with children and when I returned back to the U.S. I would become a teacher. That is where my journey in education began.
This is my third year at Swigert and fourth year teaching. I absolutely love teaching first grade. I am passionate about the IB curriculum and the global perspective it brings to our students. One of my favorite IB units in first grade is “Where We Are In Place And Time” because the students dive deep into the cultures of Japan, India and Italy. The students are not only immersed in the customs and histories of these cultures, they also learn about tolerance, acceptance and respect. I think this is a unique and special learning opportunity for young children to experience.
