I'm thrilled to return to Swigert for year two as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator. Before coming to Swigert I taught English in Barcelona, Spain, was a Parent Community Liaison and Visual Arts Teacher in Adams 14, taught Visual Arts in the IB Diploma Program in China, and then worked as a Language Immersion Visual Arts Teacher and Administrator at Denver Language School while receiving my principal license through CU Denver's Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies Program. Much of my career in these various roles has been dedicated to partnering with teachers and families to best support students.
I live in Park Hill with my husband, a social studies teacher at GW, our five year old daughter, Josie, who just started a magical kindergarten year at Swigert, our three year old son, Brock, and our Chinese dog, Lupe. In my free time I enjoy teaching and practicing yoga, running, biking, studying Chinese, painting, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family.
I look forward to working with teachers and students to ensure that our advanced are challenged and pushing their limits and to partnering with families to create unique and meaningful programs for Swigert students.
