I am originally from Holland, Michigan. I went to Calvin Collage in Grand Rapids, MI and received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. After graduating from collage I moved to Denver. When I moved here, I got a job at a Head Start working with 3-4 year olds in Sheridan, CO. It was there I discovered my passion of working with young children. I went back to school and earned my Masters in Early Childhood so I could focus my career with the early learners. In 2011, I started working at Swigert in one of their ECE classrooms. I then made the switch to teacher Kindergarten at Swigert for many years.
Now I am greatful to still work at Swigert as a Reading Interventionist for K/1 as well as the Senior Team Lead for ECE/K/1. I love it here!! When I am not at Swigert, I love spending time with my family (Joel, Isaac, and Eli). I also love reading, hanging out with friends, and traveling. Some other fun facts are that I love wearing tutus, my favorite color changes every day, and my favorite work is ‘SMILE’!
