School Choice

Families who live in the Central Park Enrollment Zone must complete a School Choice form for all children entering ECE, kindergarten, middle school, and high school. Once your child is in Kindergarten, you do not need to complete another choice form unless you choose to move them from their assigned school for the following year.

Families outside of the zone who wish to choice into a school other than their home school must also complete a Choice Form.

For the 2025-26 school year, Round 1 runs from January 15th through February 14th at 4 p.m. All Round 1 forms are processed through a prioritized lottery. Children who do not receive their first choice of schools will be placed on the waitlist(s) for any school(s) with a higher priority than their school placement. For more information about the priorities or choice process, please visit schoolchoice.dpsk12.org, or call the Office of Choice and Enrollment at 720-423-3493.

Round 2 runs from Mid-March through September 30th. All Round 2 forms will be added to the waitlist in the order they are received, after all Round 1 waitlisted students. Swigert will pull from the waitlist through September 30th. Beginning October 1st, DPS no longer allows students to change school except in extenuating circumstances. At that time, an Administrative Transfer is required, which begins in the student’s current school.

Bell Times

Our school hours are 8:10 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. unless your student is a morning bus rider. Morning bus riders will arrive to school by 7:40 and will have a 15-20 minute supervised reading time in the library.

Starting at 7:55 am, there is supervision on the playground or in the cafeteria for breakfast. At 8:05, students will walk directly to their classrooms. After the 8:10 final bell, your student is considered late.

ECE can begin dropping off at 8am and doors open for pick up at 3pm.

Specials

We offer 5 specials classes – Music, Art, PE, STEM, and Spanish. Students go to specials with their homeroom class for 1 hour per day (40 minutes for kindergarten and ECE4 only have select specials). Students also visit the library every other week.
