Sandra Ross

Hello Swigert Community! My name is Sandra Ross, and I am excited to be teaching fourth grade during the 2024-2025 school year! This will be my fourth year teaching 4th grade and my sixth year in education. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Inclusive Elementary Education from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and I have Endorsements in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (K-12); Elementary Education (K-6); and Special Education Generalist (5-21). I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Literacy Education and a Reading Specialist Endorsement at UC Denver. I enjoy building students’ confidence and growing their love of learning. I am excited to start the process of publishing my first children’s book You Can Do All Things soon!

I am passionate about our IB curriculum and extending students’ global perspectives. I look forward to exploring the “Who We Are” IB unit with students as we explore how we can take action about issues that we are passionate about and the roles and responsibilities of citizens and government officials.

 A little bit about myself, I was born in Houston, Texas and my family comes from Liberia, located in West Africa. I enjoy writing, cooking, painting, shopping, and spending time with my family and wonderful husband, Justin. I look forward to having a great school year at Swigert!
