Students making sandwiches
Students making sandwiches

Good afternoon Swigert Families,

I was originally drawn to Swigert as a parent due to the IB program. I was looking for an education environment that encouraged students to be internationally minded, critical thinkers and provided opportunities for kids to go back to the community around them and act on their learning. As a school leader I am continuously inspired by these IB components. As teachers launched their first unit, I am seeing student inquiry and curiosity come alive. We couldn’t be IB without your  continued support. To be an IB school we are required to: staff IB coordinator who supports planning and  vertical alignment,  provide professional learning opportunities for our teachers, pay yearly dues to the IB organization, and support the Spanish program. Thank you all for your generosity and support – it means a great deal to our school community.  Here is a great example of giving back; our fifth graders are making sandwiches for the SOS collaborative organization in Park Hill to feed homeless families Park Hill Safe Outdoor Space — Colorado Village Collaborative.

If you would like to make a donation during out Swigert Gives week, please go to-

Sincerely,

Shelby Dennis

Bus Email Lists

Yesterday, we sent out emails to parents of people we know to be riding the bus (sorry to the parents of #476 riders, that I forgot to change the name of the email!). If you did not receive that email and your student rides the bus, please email Daphne at daphne_jolley@dpsk12.org with your child(ren)’s name and bus route.

When we know of any issues with the bus, we’ll send out information to anyone on those lists.

Please note: for late or missing buses, student is not riding, missing students or lost and found items, contact the Dispatch Hotline at 720-423-4624 (M-F 5:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. during school year; M-F 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the summer)

Thanks,
