Dear Swigert Families,
We are excited to invite you to our in person Back to School Night this Thursday, September 8th! It’s been two years since we’ve held this event in person. Back to School Night will be a chance for you to hear from your child’s teacher(s) in more depth about the upcoming year. You’ll hear about their schedule, the IB units and topics covered in the year and ways to support your learner at home. If you have individual questions or concerns please reach out to the teacher directly prior to or after the night. This is a more general information session and individual questions about your child or the class should be addressed in a private email or in a separate conversation.
Teachers will hold two identical sessions in their classrooms, one at 5:30pm and one at 6pm. They will be 25 minutes at length with a 5 minute transition period. Please go directly to the classroom.
There will also be two identical sessions in the gym for school wide information. You will hear from school leadership about school wide programing and from our NDIZ Zone Director, Dr. Colleen O’Brien. These sessions will be held at 6pm and 6:30pm.
Lastly, Robin Bresnahan, our GT Coordinator, will be discussing Gifted and Talented Identification and Programming at Swigert. If you would like to learn more about Giftedness, how students get identified as Gifted and Talented, Advanced Learning Plans, and programming at Swigert, please join Mrs. Bresnahan in the STEM room (123) for her one session at 6:30pm.
If you cannot attend, no worries, we will send out all the slide presentations on Friday and also share them on our website.
