Dear Swigert Families

We greatly enjoyed our Halloween festivities with the community last Friday.. A shout out to our PTA and parent Jeff Nazzaro for organizing the Trunk or Treat. There was a great turnout and such creative trunks, thank you for all who participated!

Retirement

Our Facilities Manager, George Johnson- Jr is retiring today after 12 years serving at Swigert International School. The students all wrote him cards and we did a send off this morning in the library. If you see George today please wish him well and thank him for all his work at our school.  We wish you the best in your next journey George and so appreciate all you did for our students and staff. You will be missed.

Dia De Los Muertos:

Our students are also learning about Dia De Los Muertos-  Dia De Los Muertos which is lively Mexican celebration helps families honor their ancestor. Families create ofrendas (offerings) to honor their departed family members that have passed.Ms. Jones is creating a display and students are welcome to bring in photos of their loved ones who have passed away to add to the ofrenda, if you are interested. Please label photos with names and teachers on the back with a sticky note so they can be returned.

DPS Your Voice/Tu Voz Survey
The DPS “Your Voice/Tu Voz” Family Survey is open now through Wednesday, Nov. 15. Your Voice focuses on measuring outcomes across the district and its learnings from these surveys directly impact students and families.

Families can access the survey link here. Families who complete their survey between now and Nov. 15 will be eligible for a gift card giveaway! Make an impact this November by taking the DPS Your Voice/Tu Voz family survey. As a reminder, unlike previous years, DPS will administer the survey to families once in the fall and will administer it to students once in the spring.

Sincerely,
Shelby Dennis
