Hello! My name is Sumeera Aggarwal and I am thrilled to be part of the Swigert family since 2019. I grew up in India and graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master in Education degree. I began my teaching career in India. I taught three years in India in a middle school before moving to Canada in 2005. I have been teaching as a kindergarten teacher in Canada since then where I found my passion working in collaboration with children to experience the wonders of the world around us. Engaging in meaningful and integrated projects, thinking deeper about what makes a worm wiggle and taking a second look at a favorite book brings me joy! In order to gain some International Teaching experience, I moved to Colorado in 2018 as a certified teacher.

Swigert provided me the opportunity to get extensive IB training last year. I was also fortunate to attend a week’s Orton-Gillingham training in literacy to meet the needs of my students. I have completed the 2nd year of Guided Reading Plus (GRP) course in GRP (Guided Reading Plus) course which has provided me with a comprehensive reading model to assist my students’ literacy skills in the best possible way.

Currently, I live in Central Park with my husband who is a faculty at CU Denver, and we have 2 daughters. I enjoy biking, hiking, watching movies with my family. I look forward to meeting all my students and getting engaged in the many adventures that teaching kindergarten will bring!
