The Eagle Post – March 7th

Posted March 7, 2023

Dear Swigert Families,

Happy almost spring!  Remember we spring forward this weekend. We might have some tired kids on Monday morning.  Last week we held our staff vote for our school innovation plan. Each school plan  goes to the Superintendent on Thursday . The Superintendent will present his recommendations regarding the review of innovation zones and innovation zone schools to the DPS Board. The meeting is open to the public, and will also be livestreamed on the DPS Board Vimeo account.

We are putting together two spring reading challenges to encourage students to read more and read often.  Our first challenge is focused on students earning units on our Lexia Program, the top class at each grade level will earn a pizza party after spring break.   Here is the slide show with the details if you want more information.  Spring Reading Program

Our second reading challenge will occur after spring break and include ways to encourage students to read books of their choice and record time spent reading.  We will share more as we get closer and figure out the details.

We look forward to seeing our Kindergarten and Second Grade families at the music concert this Thursday.

Sincerely,

Shelby Dennis

Teacher Appreciation Week

 Auction
Hello wonderful Swigert community. As you’ve probably noticed, communications about this year’s school auction, Gaining Altitude: A Classic Colorado Affair  have started circulating and we are excited to say that the tickets are on sale NOW! Please follow the link to purchase your single, couple or table tickets now before they sell out. We will have music, food, drinks, a silent auction and a live auction. This is our largest fundraiser for supporting our school and IB program and will be an excellent opportunity to socialize with our parent and teacher community. As a new family last year, it was a great night of getting to know the parents of our kids’ friends and making some new friends of our own.

We hope to see you on Saturday, April 29th at the Upper Larimer Events Center!
