I am excited for another fantastic year with kids and families! I began teaching in 2007 and have been a proud member of the Swigert community for about half of my career. I received my teaching licensure and Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction through University of Denver. I also have a Certificate in Early Language and Literacy through Denver Public Schools and UCD. I love Swigert enough to make the trek daily from Arvada where I live with my husband, two kids, giant dog, and 8 chickens. I’ve lived in Colorado my entire life and my family and I definitely like to take advantage of the beautiful mountains that are a short drive away. We love camping, biking, and spending time on the water. Hobbies include chauffeuring my kids to activities, home improvement, reading, and finding new ways to cook with eggs. I love first grade because of the instant gratification of seeing students learn. Their growth is so quick and visible! They also keep me on my toes with their humor and unmatched ability to tell it like it is.
