My name is David Miller and I love being the STEM teacher here at Swigert. I’m originally from New Jersey, and I’ve called Colorado home since 2016. The 2026-2027 school year will be my 16th in the classroom, the 11th here at Swigert, and my 6th as a STEM teacher! As a specials teacher, I really prioritize fun while teaching students as much as I can about the vast world of science around them. We learn to critically think through problems and design solutions to them, while also learning how to use the accessible technology effectively and responsibly. I am also a Teacher Ambassador Alumnus for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum through its Teacher Innovator Institute.
I do lots of things when I’m not at school: I love spending time with my family – my wife Rachel (also a DPS educator), my children Evelyn and Declan, and our supermutt Duke. I am the head baseball coach at Northfield High School, and baseball is a true passion for me – go Yankees! I also love soccer and Arsenal Football Club – COYG! During summers, you can catch me on the baseball diamond, the hiking trails, or the golf course.
