My name is Katie Burdett, and I am thrilled to be teaching fourth grade at Swigert! This will be my sixth year working at Swigert and my third year teaching 4th grade. I especially enjoy teaching at Swigert because of our focus on student agency and inquiry-based learning. I am most passionate about teaching math and science, but I love helping students build their confidence in all subject areas. I have a BA from Grinnell College, an MPA from the School of Government at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and a Master’s in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. I grew up mostly in Pittsburgh, PA but have lived all around the US and in a couple different countries too. When not at Swigert, I enjoy running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with my husband, 12 year old daughter, and two dogs.
