Welcome to a wonderful new school year! This is my 13th year at Swigert International School and my 21st year teaching in Denver Public Schools. I absolutely love working at Swigert because of our amazing community of students, staff, and families.
This year, I am excited to step into the role of IB Coordinator where I can support teachers with making connections and infusing creativity. I will also continue serving as a Senior Team Lead (STL) and the school literacy specialist. In these roles, I teach literacy intervention and coach our wonderful teachers. I hold a LETRS Mastery Certification and have specialized training in Orton-Gillingham and the Science of Reading. I love helping students overcome reading challenges and finding creative ways to engage families in events like Winterfest and International Night.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband, Mr. Ziegler, my son Zeus (a 12th grader), and my step-daughter Maebe (an 8th grader). You can usually find me paddle boarding, reading, listening to records, gardening, camping, or traveling. I look forward to getting to know you and your children this year!
